"Just Do It."

The Lanman Center: 57,000 square feet of four regulation basketball courts, 20 basketball stations, along with a one-eighth-mile indoor running track. Niiiccceee.
Since Freshman year, "under 40° weather" has meant "take my running to the Lanman." As you can imagine, that's pretty often in New Haven. Many of times have I run on this track. Many of times have I circled around and peered down at the men and women playing hoops. And many of times have I thought to myself: "Hmm...I should go down after my run and test out my bball skillz...or lack thereof :o)"
Yesterday, one of the last days of my 1st-semester Junior Year, was the first time that I finally did this. Sad that it took me so long! Because it was so much fun! (Hehe...getting 1of every 20 shots )
"I should..." It's become such a common-used phrase in our language. We say we want to do something, we need to do something - yet we never do it. We have a thought, belief, or idea - but it always stops short of manifestation. "Just do it!"
I'm going into this break with so many plans and goals. There are books I want to read, people I want to meet, and things I want to learn. Lord, never let me be idle. Thomas Jefferson once said: "Determine never to be idle...It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing." Yes!
What have you always wanted, needed, "I should"-ed to do, yet haven't done it yet? |
